About This Spot

Tucked along the charming stretch of Front Street in Morro Bay, Frankie and Lola’s Front Street Cafe draws you in with its unpretentious warmth and a touch of seaside spirit. The rhythm here is gentle and inviting—morning light filters softly through windows that frame views of the iconic Morro Rock and the playful sea otters just below. It’s the kind of place that feels like a friendly neighbor’s kitchen, where the pace encourages a slow savoring of both food and conversation.

Inside, the atmosphere strikes a balance between cozy and lively, with a subtle quirkiness that bubbles beneath the surface—whether in the easy smiles of the staff or the way familiar breakfast classics come with unexpected twists. Large coffee mugs cradle warm, comforting brews, inviting moments of quiet contemplation or laughter shared across the table. Outdoors, the scene unfolds against the backdrop of the bay, where fresh salty air mingles with the scent of freshly cooked fare.

The menu here reads like a local’s love letter to morning meals, enticing with imaginative combinations and playful names that hint at stories and savor. Each dish arrives as a small discovery: from the satisfying hug of perfectly grilled sourdough layered with crispy bacon and melted cheddar, to vibrant scrambles layered with a brightness of olives and artichoke hearts, or a burrito that balances a slow-spiced heat with fresh ingredients. It’s a food experience that feels both grounded in tradition and open to surprise.

What lingers beyond the taste is the sense that this is a place made for moments—whether sharing a hearty breakfast before a day exploring the coast or settling into a slow morning that spills into midday. Frankie and Lola’s Front Street Cafe invites you not just to eat, but to feel connected to the local rhythms and natural beauty of Morro Bay. It’s a spot where the food, the views, and the atmosphere all come together quietly, warmly, and just right.

Great breakfast with an amazing view. Seated outside. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food was awesome. I had the Principles a scramble with artichoke hearts, olives, capers, garlic and more. Absolutely delicious. She had the chilaquiles and it was huge. Very flavorful with a hint of heat. Can't wait for my next trip out to grab breakfast here again.

Such a cute breakfast spot. My husband and I always come here for breakfast and staff is so friendly. This specific time I ordered chilaquiles and husband for a breakfast burrito.

Wonderful little spot in Morro Bay! Food was innovative and really fun. I had a hard time choosing but was very happy with what I got. Everything was delicious I have zero complaints. Small detail but I love the fact that they give you big coffee mugs. Something about having a nice warm cup of coffee with a hot breakfast really hits the spot especially when you have an ocean view in the background too.

Truly a foodie spot to visit. Any scramble can be customized TOFU for me please. Wait staff fantastic, beverage staff perfect chef(s) amazing. I enjoyed the LeRoy Brown nuff said just order it. So cheesy.

We stumbled in once then were sure to come back! We loved it. The staff were all kind and very attentive. We didn’t wait for it table but then à bunch of parties came in and they waited. Getting here earlier is best. The food was so well seasoned and delicious. The vegan options really made this à huge win for us.

One of the most delicious breakfasts I've had in my life. Tried the "Here Comes the Sun" toast with arugula, goat cheese, bacon, and sunflower seeds on sourdough. I could not recommend it enough. Also had the cinnamon roll on the side. It was delightful. I also loved the atmosphere, the coworker dynamic is wholesome and the waiters are kind and friendly.
